Follow these four foundational steps to set up your workspace, build your programs, and get your athletes training.

Invite Your Athletes

Before you can assign training, you need your roster in the system. Getting your athletes onboarded is quick and seamless.
  • Navigate to the Athletes Tab: Head to the athletes section of your dashboard.
  • Send Invites: You can add athletes individually via email. You can also copy a list full of emails and paste them all at once.
  • Athlete Onboarding: Once invited, your athletes will receive an email prompting them to download the Relay Athletic mobile app and join your organization.

Set Up Your Exercise Library

Your exercise library is the core of your programming. While Relay comes with a comprehensive built-in database, customizing it to fit your exact coaching terminology ensures a smooth experience for your athletes.
  • Review the Defaults: Browse the existing movements to see what is already available.
  • Add Custom Exercises: Click Add Exercise to input your own specialized movements.
  • Attach Media: Upload your own coaching videos or link YouTube/Vimeo URLs so your athletes know exactly how to execute the movement with your specific coaching cues.
  • Categorize: Tag your exercises to make them easy to filter later.

Create Your First Program

Now that your roster and library are prepped, it’s time to build out the training. Relay’s program builder is designed for speed and flexibility.
  • Start a New Program: Navigate to the Programs tab and select Create Program.
  • Define the Structure: Set the duration of the mesocycle (e.g., 4 weeks) and the number of training days per week.
  • Build the Blocks: Drag and drop exercises from your library into the daily workouts.
  • Dial in the Details: Prescribe sets, reps, load percentages, tempo, and rest periods. You can build out the progression for the entire block at once.

Assign the Programs to Your Athletes

The final step is delivering the workout directly to your athletes’ phones so they can get to work.
  • Select the Target: Choose whether you are assigning this program to an individual athlete, a specific group (like “Offseason Football”), or your entire roster.
  • Set the Schedule: Pick the exact start date for the program.
  • Publish: Click Assign. The workouts will instantly sync to your athletes’ mobile apps, ready for them to execute and log their results.
